Afterall, who would guess that any frog would be in his father’s mouth from tadpole to baby frog, even with the hint, “On my first day, I hopped out of my father’s mouth.”
The end of the book holds further information for each of the 22 animals described in this book. My First Day would be a good starting point for a unit on wild animals in which students research more animals and write about their findings. My First Day is a must-have for any third grade class.
