This easy-to-read book is filled with cute dog pictures that would make anyone want to run out and get a pet. Along with these pictures are bits of important information about feeding, exercising and grooming a dog.
I Like Mixed-Breed Dogs is a great book for any 3rd grade reader; it contains age appropriate vocabulary for this reading level. The author also includes a list of words to know toward the end of the book.
Children at the third grade reading level will find the book easy to read and will enjoy learning about taking care of a dog. The book will re-enforce reading level skills, as well as comprehension skills. This book can serve as a starting off point for discussion about being responsible for another living creature. The book can be used as an introduction to keeping a pet in a classroom environment.
